the creation of "lake TownCenter".

*news bulletin  -- sentinel article indicates towncenter may be nothing more than a glorified strip mall!

The scenic look from a high school window ----

And soon to be also high rise condos.

The picture below is the ditch for the sewerage piping from the "town center".

After reaching the culvert exchange, the runoff waters are directed 90 degrees to the north where it will flow into a huge retention area that could be now called ---

"the cesspool behind city hall!"

The next picture will show the depth of the culvert, and pipeline directing the asphalt runoff water from the TownCenter into a MASSIVE retention pond.   The depth, width, and length of this man-made pond is astronomical as the following pictures will show.    The high school is in the back.

notice the forest with trees and foliage in the right side of the picture.

Next is winter springs high School in the background.   You can visually depict the depth of this monstrosity by using the roadway light standards as a gauge.   The water in the bottom is ground water seeking a higher ground level because of the extensive depth of this hole.

This hole has gone beyond normal ground water levels.   From here, in all probability, the waters from the asphalt parking lot, of the TownCenter, could eventually wind up seeping into the lower water table where it can freely flow into Lake Jesup, and into the water reserves of the State.

How much of the filth generated by the TownCenter parking lot is to be dissipated at the front door of this school before it will reach the under ground water source?    Or, do they really know, and if so, how much will reach Lake Jesup just a short distance away?

This sensitive body of water, Lake Jesup, is already reaching a dangerous pollutant stage, and is being carefully watched by environmentalist.    This runoff "towncenter" sewerage seeps into the underground waters of Lake Jesup.  It is a polluting factor to be reckoned with and watched.

If you think this is not a massive retention pond, the next picture is showing the high school from the center to the west end portion.   It even looks like from the picture, that yes, it is deeper than the school light standards, and the school could fit into the hole.

The standing water at the center point depth is unknown, but water had to be pumped out to allow for the evacuation.    Wonder how many millions of gallons of the parking lot run-off water will this pond hold?    Remember the TownCenter parking lot is now void of foliage of any form, although the City will tell you the developer is to plant trees.   What they plant will never compensate for the asphalt jungle they have created with the "The TownCenter"!   It's called --

"the winter springs high school Runoff Water Retention Pond swimming pool".

**  up  date  on "lake  towncenter " &  it's  runoff  water  retention  pond  **

A Commission meeting of 2004 finds Commissioners Miller & Martinez trying to restrict boat docks in Winter Springs, because of the deteriorating status of Lake Jesup.   But, look what they voted on!    The "Dirt-Water-Ditch" Has to be worse than boat docks.    If you put all the boats on the City of Winter Springs Lake Jessup docks into the  "LAKE  TOWNCENTER  RUNOFF" ---  there would be enough space left to water ski.     The water there will be more polluted than Lake Jessup.

Miller says that Jesup is already too polluted.    Martinez says "They could build boat docks to the center of Lake Jesup.   We must take steps to stop the building of these docks".     Miller says the residents are causing a problem by feeding the alligators hot dogs, but that is a right that can't be restricted by law.    We need an ordinance.

Miller & Martinez have a "one-track mind".   This was a 1999 issue resurrected by these two Commissioners.   The dogs that should be fed to the gators in Lake Jesup are the "dog-gone-dais".    Commissioners Blake and McLeod at least had the brains to see through this farce with some logical approach to this agenda item.    The Mayor had to vote the tie breaker, because the "Triumvirate" was missing their leader.     Gennell was out --- sick!

We have indicated many times of this commission's voting, and agenda collusions  --- IT STINKS !

you  know  who's  trying  to  run  this  City   with  the  city  manager's agendas !

( Back to "Lake TownCenter Runoff " )

Next is the western border of this massive retention pond.   It extends beyond the western end of the high school.   Once again the trees and foliage are present in the background, as a further indication of just how much this area was stripped down to accommodate the TownCenter asphalt parking lot runoff waters.

Also very noticeable is the tower structure, which reaches 150 feet in height.   Its power structures within the fenced area are right on the fringe of this deep hole.   Could this not be a high voltage structure perched very close to a huge water source in an environment too close to the high school?   It will be very interesting to see permits that authorized this storm water runoff retention pond in this highly-used school and City Hall area.

Most of these pictures were taken from fifteen feet or less from the City Hall parking lot.    Will this area have a high fence with possible prison type barbed wire to prevent the scaling of the fence?

Featured next is the tree line which is all that separates City Hall from this monstrous pit.   In the background you can see the last of the remaining forested area very thinly veiling the back of the Publix supermarket in the asphalt jungle.

One has to wonder -- where were you -- State of Florida, DCA, Seminole County, Seminole County School Board, St. Johns Water Management, and most of all the conscience  of the City of Winter Springs Officials ( obviously contained in their ego trips ) when this monstrosity was planned?

st. johns water management --- where are you ?

this is the planned rape, pillage, destruction, and paving of our green space !

The current commission, and City manager, of the City of Winter Springs have strong ties to developers, contractors, property management organizations, and others who have used the green areas of the city for massive developments.   what you have seen and read, in the above article, is just a tip of the iceberg.    ( 2005 -- ex-commissioner McLeod profits over 3.2 million dollars. )

news flash !!

sign says "no dumping" -- $500 fine -- don't fall in --- you could be fined !

The green circle in the left portion of the picture is a huge pump that is pumping water OUT  of this retention pond.    There hasn't been any rain.    Could this water be seeping in from lake Jesup?    golly, that could pollute "Tiny Towns" runoff water pond.   Plus we could get a lot of gators.

St Johns Water Management ---- we need help ---- where are YOU?

Just in -- All the remaining woods around the high school have been razed for high rise condos.    Over 280 degrees around the high school will now be high rise condos.     There are NO MORE trees between the high school and the lake.     McLemore's developers won --- with your City Commissioners.

( More pictures published below )

The next picture is dedicated to the great poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow --- "Hiawatha".

"By the shore of Gitche Gumee, by the shining Big Sea Water ---"

( For our  younger readers  --- it is not a picture of the "Loch Ness Monster". )

Is this the City's underground gasoline storage tanks on the shore of "Lake McLemore"?

It doesn't look like a water drinking fountain!

the city manager has stated many times that this destruction is needed to feed the frenzied spending troughs of his massive budgets, and bonded debts.   if this additional commercial revenue is not achieved, then the huge increased current property tax of  6.5% will go drastically up again.    there is no doubt on that issue!     The mid-year financial report is seeking still more funds.

we shall show you other devastated lands used for development, and present you with some future endeavors that are eye-opening.    Watch for these future publications.

take down the signs that say "tree city USA"---- there aren't going to be any left !

replace  them  with the City Manager's NEW slogan --

"a  city  paved  for  commercial  development"

As a side note -- Citizens have to be aware that the Commission passed one of the most horrendous Arbor Ordinances ever conceived.    As passed,  the ordinance contains Gestapo-like tactics against the private property owners, while giving the developers free rein to raze the fields of trees even to the extent they gave lesser charges on the fines to developers.

If you can't interpret  the magnitude of that allegation just consider this ---

Developers are regulated by a fictitious committee called "The Development Review Committee".    This is merely a front for the City's developing-oriented  Commission of Winter Springs.

The commission is The " DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE " !

The Commissioners of Winter Springs, with their ties to developers, contractors, realtors, and so forth --

Have Made Themselves ----- THEIR OWN DRC !

with this arrangement city manager mclemore has his dream world !
