On is the seventh day of September 2004 --- Hurricanes Charley & Frances have come and gone. They must have taken the City of Winter Springs Government/Management with them. Neighborhoods still not cleared from Charley remain at that date still cluttered with storm trash, while the City has managed to cleanup areas of THEIR concern. Medians as an example --- on which traffic does not use for conveyance. Tuscawilla areas that were paid for with "special assessment (TLBD) taxes", such as the fountain areas, medians, exclusive neighborhoods, and gated communities.
Even with the multi-million dollar web site, available at their finger tips, they can't even use that method to communicate with the citizens of Winter Springs as to trash schedules, garbage pickup, and other related storm activities. Some say there was some white-wily-haired city management type guy, that mumbled a few words on TV, only never to be heard, or seen from again.
Those relying on battery operated radios got absolutely NOTHING reported to the populace of Winter Springs as to the status of streets, water, sewerage (which they are already covered up with), street light operations, security, or ANY activity related to assistance offered to the public to inform them of City operations during either hurricane, or related aftermath.
PFGG was also informed that certain commissioners had been called for information. Even though phones were answered there was no follow up by your elected official. One is even running for re-election (?). As this article is being written another call relating to this same matter by a web site visitor was received. In one neighborhood where two City Commissioners have property holdings they were both MIA --- Missing In Action.
It must be all your elected officials are interested in is their seats on the "ruling" dais. Your City Government can best be described, as in previous PFGG articles, as truly a "Shadow Government". Whoops, you might find them sitting around a fountain in "Tiny Town".
So when you go to the ballot box in November, just think back on Charley & Frances, and the ineptness of your elected officials. They must still be in a shelter. Of course, in some races, you have NO CHOICE --- AGAIN ! You would be better off writing in a vote for "Goofy".
The City Government of Winter Springs is so engrossed in their egomania "Town (Tiny Town) Center" project, the development of four story condos (even on a commissioner's property) to compensate private businesses, the "Golden Parachute" retirement package of the head dictator (their leader), and his insurance for his future, and NOW TAXES --- they forgot ---
YOU THE PEOPLE !
If the following stories will not point toward the total ignorance provided by the dais Gods of their electoral self preservation instead of common sense, and the respect of the people, who elected these clowns -- what other excuses can be thrown their way as a defense for total ineptness?
After reading the below printed story, and visiting the link, which provides a much more truthful, and the absurdity of your City Government, one must come to the conclusion of the ineptness of the current City management and politicians.
If the following newspaper story, which itself is not the TRUE story, and your visiting the link provided is not enough to justify the allegations, then your imagination must have been flushed down the toilet with the story as evidenced.
Commissioner Miller's statement is self explanatory --- " WEE ", and the "Cloned" Commissioner McGinnis said --- she was " BLOWN AWAY" !
Those are your elected officials ?
In all due respect to Mr. Tizzo, the Oviedo Voice politically never covers the TRUE story !
Visit the below link --- it's very revealing of governmental misgivings. They ONLY had $200,000 dollars insurance to cover this catastrophe, but yet carry ten times that amount on their City Manager's* catastrophe insurance.
*( The taxpayers pay over $200,000 dollars per year for his lavished upkeep.)
To protect HIM --- not the PEOPLE !
