city manager's Picked posse shoots down firefighter's 2001* contract !
firefighters won the labor dispute -- city appeals in court !
hello -- to more legal fees for the taxpayers !
*(
The above date is correct ----- the Firefighters
didn't have a contract for 16
20
months ! )

(L - R ex-commissioners * Martinez, Gennell, and current commissioner R. Shirley Miller)
* At the left is NOW ex-commissioner Martinez. Commissioner Martinez moved back into Tuscawilla (the only section not paying the horrendous assessment taxes, which he helped con through the commission), and is probably going to run for the Blake commission seat in the next election. Tuscawilla needs him like a train needs Jesse James ! Remember ---- Martinez with ALL of his dais buddies supported the Tuscawilla Assessment District.
You must realize --- no matter how you vote for the 100% assessment increases, it really doesn't make any difference. The commission has given themselves the power to IGNORE your voting rights, and do the bidding of their 'lord-n-master" Cm McLemore, who will probably like before rig the voting results anyway!
Neither are representatives of the City --- only their personal ambitions, and now the $15,000 dollar raises they gave themselves. One could truly say this is a GOOD reason to raise taxes in the City of Winter Springs. With the City Manager & City Attorney raking more than a half-a-million dollars a year out of current tax coffers, the City is NOW way overwhelmed with high paid elected and management personnel. The commissioners and mayor NOW rake in over 1/4 million dollars in expenses. But they don't have enough money to build parking garages for their "Tiny Town".
at least it won't be " the Billboard " Gennell !
why did ex-commissioner gennell boycott the city's Christmas parade ?
did she really get mad because she lost the election ?

what used to be the " MGM vote " ( Miller/Gennell/Martinez ) will now became the --
" M & M triumvirate vote "

city manager's new contract coming up in November.
Has the city manager goofed ? The commission told him to present his contract negotiations before November 2002. He didn't do it -- he disobeyed the Commission. This is year 2003 and no contract. Shouldn't the Commission fire him for disobedience ?
money is needed to continue his raises of more than 8.5% and $22,000 !
Hours after gushing forth with their individual diabolical dialogs from the dais of "I love yah" --- "you're the life and death of the City", the Commission voted against EVERY firefighter proposal, with the exception of two which were "no brainers". They know they have to deal with the City Manager's contract which they have dictated must be brought to them this month or else. Or else what ? Are they going to fire him if he doesn't come forward with his 2002 contract during November ? Anyone want to venture a guess ?
One of the most brazen displays of a "Gennellism" was her statement that she has supported every one of the raises for the firefighters. Her memory sure is short --- both she and Commission Miller tried to throw the increases out in budget meetings held on September 23rd and October 14th. It's on the tapes, Commissioner, when led by City Manager McLemore, both of you supported lowering the budget by eliminating the Fire Department's budget proposals. It would seem when they face a hostile audience they'll say anything. SHAME --- SHAME ---- SHAME ! The whole meeting on October the 29th was a sham --- because the City WAS FORCED to hold a public meeting by powers-to-be!
( the Martinez tirade and ranting was in its usual format. )
But more unfortunate was a declaration of an expenditure, by City Manager McLemore, to use a tax-supported publication to vent his PERSONAL frustration. When grilled by an ex-City Commissioner, the public learned that he had spent $10,000 to $14,000 just to print his propaganda-oriented "special" issue of the "INSIDER" ---- just before elections. It was mailed to over 14,000 homes in Winter Springs. The postage alone would have cost well over another $10,000. That should be taken out of your pay, McLemore !
Another display of total arrogance was the constant referral to the City Manager's "personal" attendance at the negotiating table. That wasn't true either was it, McLemore ? Remember a guy named DeMarie ? He attended ALL the meetings prior to the City Manager being forced to fire him. The dais can't even admit the truth. The current City Commission should not give him a new contract.
The City Manager should be put on the same level as the firefighters ---- NO CONTRACT !
to those of you that read the "INSIDER" ---- here's the response by the firefighters !
