A Prayer For ALL Governments !
The Prayer below contains MANY of the obvious faults of almost every government in this land today. The seventh under the opening of "We have..." is the most abused, and used by politicians to justify their existence when making decisions opposing public concerns.
A prime example of that "We have..." would be the upcoming development plan by the city to OPEN development on the Tuscawilla golf course when not but a few years ago probably well over a million dollars of you tax money was used to oppose the very same -- if not BETTER -- development on the very SAME TRACT of land.
The biggest difference, however, will be the type of housing. Under the old plan homes would have been built like the beautiful homes in the Arrowhead sub-division in the Tuscawiila PUD. NOW, instead of million dollar homes there will be 60 condos built -- even approaching an environmental sensitive tract -- which will probably be around the $300,000 dollar category.
Thus, LESS taxable income for the city, and a cluttering effect upon the golf course area. Plus once again the dais friends of developers, and McLemore's benefit will again try to feed the coffers of an OVER EXTENDED developing scheme of the city manager and staff. PFGG has many times warn the citizens of the City of Winter Springs of city manager McLemore's need to try and find sales revenue for HIS elaborate "Glorified Strip Mall" (per the Orlando Sentinel).
Then, of course, is the lightning rod move made by the city --- in favor of the SAME land owner. It was just too obvious when they awarded that cell tower calamity to a private owner instead of reaping potential taxable income for the city. Instead of the going price of anywhere between $600,00 and $900,000 for a cell tower location -- it has been said the land owner sold it for around $300,000. This is just ONE example. If you have your favorite just send it to People For Good Government. Read the "We have(s).... below.

The Prayer
This is a Prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems Prayer still upsets some people. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate. Everyone was expecting the usual generalities, But this is what they heard:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good, but that is exactly what we have done.We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building selfesteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called itfreedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the Time-honored values of our forefathers and called itenlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from Every sinand set us Free."
