History Books of the World Have a New Chapter - The People Have Spoken And Voted !

The vote, on October 8th, 2003, was a rude awakening  for the elected politicians.    It brought forth the biggest revolt against the political régime since the "Boston-Tea-Party".    Within the borders of TWO of the largest States in the Union, the voters sent a resounding "NO NEW TAXES" to the  voting precincts in California and Orange County Florida.

They shocked the "political-status" with not only "NO NEW TAXES", but overthrew even a newly re-elected second term Governor in the State of California, and shocked the "politicos" in both voting arenas with the REPEAL of existing taxes down to the overwhelming defeat of any NEW TAXES.    The Freedom of the taxpayers' wallets prevailed.

In Orange County Florida, right next door to Seminole County and the City of Winter Springs, hastily-formed legislation for taxation was overwhelmingly defeated by the voters who said "WE'VE HAD ENOUGH".    Not only that, but it was done with record turnouts of voters, which usually favors the "political machines".     The "political machines" of Orange County/City of Orlando had amassed a money war chest to outspend the  "AXE-THE-TAX" bunch 100 to 1.     It didn't work.    Today the "political machines"  are out the $1.5 million dollars, and went home with empty hands.      And the air has been "purified" over the voting arenas.

What is so pathetic is the fact they have no back-up plan to solve the problems they assume the voters would give them with "billions-of-dollars".    These people can only govern ---- IF THEY HAVE MONEY !     What does that tell you voter ---- money BUYS politicians and their "politics".     This the people DON'T need, and most assuredly, the people will be smarter  if they rid themselves of "politicians" who can only rule with your tax dollars.

WE  HAVE  BEEN  WARNING  YOU -------- YOU  THE  PEOPLE  OF  WINTER  SPRINGS !

For over FIVE years, PEOPLE FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT, has brought forth many issues of ill-advised spending, the HUGE bonded debt of the City of Winter Springs, and the antics of your City Government and City management.     We have warned you of phony bond issues, the frenzied spending, and just pure mismanagement of the City.

You, the people, haven't been paying much attention, but a change and more vocal opposition has been noticed.    Whether we have assisted in the changing thought in the communities, or it is just  the knowledge that you've been financing a HUGE political machine running rampant through our City, PFGG is pleased to see the change.

That which has been allowed to fester within the City, now needs a dose of common sense.     Once your favorite has been elected, there seems to be an atmosphere in the confines of City Hall that leads the newly elected straight into the clutches of  the establishment.    Those who preached from the "soap boxes" of the people, became enamored with them selves, and ran amok with the moneys within your wallet.

Now the firmly entrenched will counter with their own deceitful propaganda.     They will counter with their "great" deeds, and "fiscal" responsibility as justification.        They will say ---

bullet

Commissioner Bobby Miller with his "I can account for every penny".

bullet

Of course, they will tell you they lowered the bond debt ( it hasn't been made available from Tallahassee yet ) which may be true.   But that's accomplished by re-financing and lowering the overall debt with -----  MORE YEARS TACKED ON TO PAY THE LOWER AMOUNT.     That's the old credit card trick --- pay off one card to look good by getting extended terms on another credit card.

bullet

Commission Eddie Martinez and his "the people never had it so good, because of what we have done".        He says nothing about the taxes spent to get to that point.

bullet

Commissioner McLeod, who has a very successful private business, owns property within the project called "TownCenter Zoning" which is draining the coffers dry.    It helps him --- of course, and he knows it, for he keeps saying at meetings that  he has interest in the "project".

bullet

Commissioner McGiness is nothing more than an ex-Commission Gennell clone, and you knew how much SHE liked to spend money.    The famous $186,000 dollar burial of the overhead cables from SR419 to Tuscawilla Road is still one of the biggest boondoggles and laughter of City functions.     There is STILL overhead cables ---- the job was HALF-DONE !    McGiness is no different !

bullet

Commissioner Blake, although he has the financial expertise, joined with the Khemlani clones in establishing one of the City's biggest phony bond issues in the history of the City.     It was called "The Beautification of Private Property in Tuscawilla", and the double payment on that which the City was already responsible to upkeep.     Oh yes,  your assessments may see a raise in taxes on this issue, and wait until the "warranty" runs out on the "improvements".     The people will be paying through the nose for maintenance on that which THEY DON'T EVEN OWN !

bullet

Mayor John Bush ran on supposing a clean platform, but has succumbed to the overwhelming manipulations of the City Manager.    He no longer accepts the criticism of his rule, and runs the Commission meetings for the Commissioners --- not the people.    He has become the Mayor of dupliCITY.

last -- but not least, is the two employees, on the dais, hired by the commission !

bullet

The unfortunate position of City Attorney is merely an extension of the City Managers manipulated actions, and in which one could truly say he sits at the "left hand" of the City Manager.    This attorney serves to try and keep the City within the legal boundaries of legitimate City functions.    This is a task less job for outside legal services are constantly sought to fight the many court room battles the City is led into by inappropriate governmental actions, or lack of such.    The law firm he presently represents will receive approximately 1/2 million dollars this calendar year for his services.      The outside representation by other law firms, in court appearances, has cost the taxpayers probably well over two million dollars.     The best example of the City's passionate disregard of your tax dollars can really be found in some of the legal activities.     The prime case would be the spending of over $50,000 dollars of your tax dollars to collect a $50.00 dog barking nuisance allegation.    This has even found it's way to the appeal court level.     Oh well ---- it's only TAX MONEY !!

bullet

Then Winter Springs has the California look alike --- "Gray Davis" --- with it's own City Manager Ronnie McLemore.      Much can be found on this web site surrounding the background of this traveled man.     In fact, like Gray Davis of California, this man has indebted the City of Winter Springs to such an extent that it affected the City's bond rating.    If he finds new projects to develop, at taxpayers expense, there would be NO MONEY.      He has to depend on "Grant Money" (for which taxpayers pay dearly ), or go to bond market.     Like the bond to "Expand Central Winds Park' it would be a doubtful approach, as was that bond.     To improve road existing today he must find other moneys, since he has misused the "Road Sales Tax" as a ploy to build roads in questionable projects such as "Tiny Town".

Read this web site -- you'll find his shortcomings and deceit -- such as ---

The phony tax on your garbage bill ---

The use of moneys to acquire land for his Lake Jesup pumping project  ---

The hiding of moneys associated with his "slush fund" and the internal embezzlement --

It's  ALL  on  this  web  site --- the  list  is  long --

The  City  of  Winter  Springs  needs --

special  bulletin

In a radio newscast, the subject of concerning Seminole County's road sales tax was presented.    It was announced by Seminole County Commissioner Morris that the Cities in Seminole County had a representative meeting of the Mayors and City Managers.

The exact date is not known at this time, but it must be assumed that this was during the Orange County/Orlando attempt to raise sales taxes for their roads.    As everyone knows now, although highly touted by those public officials and political minions, that TAX was soundly DEFEATED by the voters.

So, it must be assumed that your City's hierarchy wanted to take advantage of what they thought was going to be a sure thing, and apply it to the Seminole County "road sales" tax income.    They weren't happy with what they had been given a short while ago, they just wanted to get greedy --- without a plan --- like that which was defeated in Orange County.

If the rest of the Cities in Seminole County misuse that "road sales tax", as has the City of Winter Springs, then you must call your local politicians.     Tell them if they propose that NEW tax  --- then they "gotta' go"!    They are already making the County a concrete slab, which requires more schools, and money to keep up the current road system.

The City of Winter Springs, instead of maintaining current roads, has spent millions on their "Tiny Town" shopping center, with million dollar lighting for people that aren't even there.    Even the parks, which are CLOSED at night, have had millions spent on LIGHTING.    Your Commission and City Manager have been blinded with exotic lighting fixtures.    Just look at the BACK DOORS of City Hall.     Hundreds of thousands spent to light up no more than 30 feet --- both doors.

Should these Cities attempt to force the County to have another tax referendum -----

VOTE  NO !

let's get rid of "Special Interest" running our local governments !

special just in -- another sales tax bits the dust !

"Bruce Wechsler and his Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility deserve our heartfelt thanks for a job well done.  The taxpayers are victorious once again," Guetzloe concluded.

Ax the Tax assisted the Brevard Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility with advice, signage, buttons and bumper stickers as well as a formal endorsement.
