New TLBD Tax

Well, Tuscawilla residents, here comes yet another assessment. They sold us on the Tuscawilla Beautification by telling us it would only be about $105 a year for 20 years. After the initial work was done, (with much over-planting, creating blind spots at the road cuts) the only expense that they would have is to maintain what was done. The private property improvements alone were well over $4,000,000 million dollars.

Now, they are going to propose a 50% increase, of $55-$65 a year!

Oh, yes, they are going to get community input by sending out a ballot for a non-binding resolution. Why bother? Do you honestly think they are going to be guided by what we, in Tuscawilla, think? We are so exclusive, that it now will cost $155-$165 a year just to live in Tuscawilla.

Perhaps we'll have a re-play of the last vote they took, where many ballots were discarded, so they could say that the majority of the residents wanted the assessment.

Has the question come to mind as to why all those ridiculous trees were planted along Winter Springs Boulevard, just past Northern Way? Why did the City workers do the planting? It appears that they had money to spend, so they put in large stand of trees--all the more for the next hurricane to take down!

We have been taken by the usual politicians' promises, which are not worth the paper they're printed on. Doesn't the City know that with the huge increases in property values the "property taxes" will almost double? Does complete stupidity reign in City Hall with the City Manager, and his "lapdog" Commission?

Remember this is the vote that defeated the "Special Taxing District". until City Manager McLemore threw out 63 ballots so the issue could pass by 9 votes. In other words --- McLemore rigged that vote, and you can bet he will rig this one also. The City needs the money --- bad! They spent to much on "Tiny Town".

There has NEVER been a published public accounting of the use of the tax money that Moti Khemlani and current Commissioner Gilmore mis-used in this project. Gilmore was the chairperson of the TLBD committee, and did as Moti told him to do along with the recommendations of their "handpicked" architectural engineer --Bill Starmer company.

Bill Starmer is a Rotary Club buddy of City Manager Ronnie McLemore. In fact --- Starmer chose who to use as contractors in the project. Guess there wasn't anybody smart enough at the City level.

This is the project in which there was a "class action" lawsuit filed against the City, and the City lost. McLemore than hired a retired State of Florida Supreme Court Justice to file a law suit against the CITIZENS of the City of Winter Springs in the State Supreme Court. I guess the City Attorney wasn't qualified enough to fight this loss. He's the same attorney who lost in the local Court System.

Strange though was this Justice used the SAME argument used in the local Court and won. All that proves is the political status of the Court Systems in the State. This cost the tax payers of Winter Springs a bundle of tax money to win this "rigged" scam.

Remember that when you cast your straw ballot -- not that it'll make any difference --

McLemore will probably find some way to "rig" the outcome again!
