McLemore  tells  of  his magnificent  moments !

To think the City Manager did all this by himself.    Who is McLemore trying to fool?    He's got the Commission buffaloed !    Of course, when a City has a "lap-dog" Commission that's not too hard.

PFGG will run a series of articles, as the contents are researched from our archives, recounting the many of the mis-steps by the perks-seeking City Manager, and his developers.

how many of you  --- our readers ----- will remember ----

the  great  rohit  joshi  incident ?

Mr. Rohit Joshi was brought in by City Manager McLemore, to take over the development of the "Towncenter", and negotiate the purchase of properties from the owners along SR434.    His means of financial backing  and plans were laid out on the table for the Commission's approval.

The Commissioners bought the presentations and promoting of City Manager McLemore lock-stock-and-barrel!     Under McLemore, the City Staff, connected to the Towncenter project, confirmed the touting and credentials as presented to the City by Rohit Joshi.

The City Commission, as requested by McLemore, literally gave Joshi "the Keys to the City".      Yes, he was given keys for entry, at anytime,  and in fact,  met with developers there --- in his "own private office".     The City also provided this private individual with two telephone lines into that office for telecom and faxes.

McLemore now had his pigeons ( Commissioners & ex-Mayor ) in the bird cage.    They spent lavishly for catered dinner meetings, and consulting trips to Coral Springs --- home offices of McLemore-designated development consultants upstairs in a two story rundown building.      Trips to those offices came often and included staff, McLemore and Developers.   It is believed, however, that the developers paid for their own trip fares.

One trip, to McLemore's chagrin, took place on a Friday morning, because McLemore and his  wife were catching a boat to the Bahamas that afternoon.    The developer flew down to Ft. Lauderdale and rented a car, while the City staff member had to drive the long trip.

( McLemore's trip was disastrous, for while motor-scootering in the Bahamas, on the wrong side of the road, he collided with a car.    Seems like McLemore forgot which side of the street to drive on in the Bahamas.     It was kept pretty well hushed-up, and he was taken back to the boat. )

Not only was McLemore crippled from his Bahamian excursion, but Rohit Joshi had (???? very questionable) many connections with Far Eastern influence, such as the owner of Chinese ferry services, gambling enterprises, and other touted connections.      The names were valid, but his association could never be verified.      (This writer spent two months in the Hawaiian Islands researching the above information).      Rohit Joshi's connections were very suspicious.

It was never found out how the City Commission and ex-Mayor ever bought  his highly touted background.    It was only through the  words of McLemore/Joshi, and the gullibility of the City ruling régime.     Your tax money was, once again, very recklessly spent on this multi-million dollar Towncenter project --- before even a shovel of dirt had been moved.

Commissioner Miller says he "can account for every cent" spent by this City -- WHOOPS !

if commissioner miller can account for this --- then he was in on the farce !

Even the signature on a couple of documents used in the exploitation of the background  of this individual was suspect.     A City staff member (EX-City Staff member) had a hard time verifying the background of this individual.     It came to the point that everyone just took the word of McLemore and developer Joshi.

Lo and behold, Mr. Joshi, it was discovered, was passing bad paper in Las Vegas, and had filed bankruptcy.    Mr. McLemore sold him to the ex-Mayor and the Commission.    It was like stealing candy from a baby!       Once again, the City Manager could get off the hook by saying that the Commission approved Mr. Joshi, and McLemore was only doing what the Commissioners wanted.

that was the ultimate in CYA !

Remember that's the same ploy  still used by McLemore today ---

HEAR  NO  EVIL - SEE  NO  EVIL - DO  NO  EVIL !

the commission did it !

the most famous of all of the joshi/McLemore plans --- remember the -

the  great  lakeside  resort !

This was the elaborate plan to build a resort-oriented hotel on the Shores of Lake Jessup, right at the SR434 & Greenbelt junction.  This was to be complete with a "white-sand beach" on the Lake Jessup shoreline with all the beachside amenities.   Neither McLemore nor Joshi knew that the waters of Lake Jessup are infested, and called ---- AN  ALLIGATOR  HEAVEN !                   But that wasn't all ----

The lush pastures on the north side of State Road 434 were to be converted into "PONY  POLO  FIELDS"!    Yes, Winter Springs was to become in inland West Palm Beach of Florida.     Dang it -- now it isn't anything but -- "TINY TOWN"!   So much for the McLemore/Joshi glorious development planned under the auspicious "Towncenter Concepts".     The Commission fell for it, but succumbed to "Tiny-Town" after the demise of Joshi.   He disappeared out of sight --- THANK GOODNESS!

One has to wonder -- WHAT WERE THESE TWO SMOKING?

Once again City Manager comes before the Commission with  ALL  his achievements, to entice them to give him an unjustifiable raises.    This man has costs the taxpayers vast millions of dollars with HIS outlandish and  various development plans for the City of Winter Springs !
