Update on Lake Jesup !

City of Winter Springs
no Friend of Lake Jesup !

The following is occurring.
Is the City Attorney out-of-the-loop on the usage of public money?. He's allowing the City of Winter Springs use City taxpayers money to buy property outside the City, and then the City will annex the property into the City of Winter Springs. Does the Commission/City Manager have development egos on this latest scheme?
The Commission voted on this Monday December the 8th.
(The vote was 5 - 0 for this latest park scam.)

email to PFGG --- the writer had a good question !
who knows what goes on in the park's system ?
Mayor wants to erect a display in the City Hall lobby for the award the Parks Department got from John Deere Company. Gees, that's going to be neat --- a tractor in the lobby of City Hall. Sure hope the City gets a lot of visitors from outside the City. They overshadow the usage of City of Winter Springs participants in OUR multi-million dollar park investment.
(NO WRITER -- We don't think the John Deere award was from a "tracker-pull" contest held in Central Winds Park. You never know though -- there's enough empty space in that park to hold a tractor pull --- plus the Daytona 500 Race. )

MORE --- Winter Springs' Thirst for water --
Once again, using Central Winds Park as their crutch, the City of Winter Springs is annexing more lakefront property along Lake Jesup. They will call this, like all other park ploys, "expansion" of the park system. It's becoming a joke --- you could put every kid in Seminole County in the parks system the City has now, and have enough room left to build another "Daytona 500 Raceway". Children need playgrounds -- not revenue producing parks for outside sources. What City league has an office based in Winter Springs ?
The truth is --- due to OVER-DEVELOPMENT the City needs irrigation water for acres of land being developed. Actually, a good rainstorm should clean off the concrete and asphalt being use in place of the lush greenery once to be found in the City of Winter Springs. Condos, apartments, office buildings, and strip malls ---- like "Tiny Town" ---- don't have green yards and play grounds. Children can't play on concrete and roadways ! (But NOW -- 10/27/05 -- Oviedo can help Winter Springs siphon water from Lake Jesup.)
ALL THIS at the expense of the Winter Springs taxpayers !
Beware
--- City Manager/Politicians Playing a Game of Semantics ---
Again !
The idea of a water reclamation pumping station on Lake Jesup is alive and well in Winter Springs. Don't be fooled by City Manager McLemore or his underlings in the Public Utilities and Recreation Departments when they speak of the building abutting Lake Jesup as the "City Irrigation Facility". That so-called City Irrigation Facility is the cleverly disguised Water Reclamation Pumping Station.
The City Irrigation Facility will be pumping water OUT of Lake Jesup to provide "irrigation water" to more than just the Wincey Property. It will supply "irrigation water" for most of Winter Springs and beyond once the City expands its borders to the EAST ( Black Hammock ) and the SOUTH ( past Dyson Drive ).
Before we continue this article, we would like to insert a portion ( paraphrased to shorten contents ) of an email letter received by a known insider, whom we will keep anonymous because of the person's position, stating the following in describing Lake Jesup's protection and cleanup ----
"the City of Oviedo just re-upped their participation ------ along with Seminole and Volusia Counties, so it leaves Winter Springs out there as a NON-FRIEND of the lake. They don't participate in any activity that is larger than their myopic stare. The City Manager/Mayor seem to be presenting to everyone that some sort of tentative approval is in place. NOT SO as far as records indicate at this time. Studies will be in soon ----- it's been in the waiting several months ---- "
The City is taking more than advantage of its riparian rights on Lake Jesup, it's positioning itself to rape the lake in the name of expansion. Does McLemore even know the true meaning of riparian rights any longer, or what he is even talking about. Is it that McLemore thinks that riparian rights means allowing convicted felons and sex offenders on City Boards, Committees, and employment? He even put that subject on a regular City Commission meeting agenda. It's time to tell the truth !
Speak up and out for Lake Jesup --
It's the only way this poor victim can have its' rights heard !
