CITY MANAGER'S GOLDEN PARACHUTE COMING APART AT THE SEAMS
( PFGG has uncovered some astonishing revelations concerning the below topic,. You can be assured the facts surrounding this questionable use of tax dollars are factual , not disguised as set forth in the City's Commission meeting agendas ---- manufactured to be misleading.)
![]()
The information below was all prompted by the City Manager seeking tax dollar to bail him out of his "OWN" private pension plan. This was, which took place, prior to the above date.
Over 287 employees have left the City of Winter Springs since the arrival of current City Manager McLemore. Some were given horrendous severance pay packages. Was it for silence?
Imagine what these turnovers have cost the taxpayers! As the City Manager's "golden parachute" fails to unfold, has this also contributed to the loss of so many City employees? Has his micro-management finally shown a burden upon those that contributed to the City of Winter Springs?
The City Commission took care of the City Manager's demands for his outlandish pay raises and retirement fund contributions, while they ignored those employed under the City Manager who sought equal treatment. Most were terminated, while others sought equal benefits in the private sector, while the City Manager basked in his benefits paid by the taxpayers.
Excerpts from December 12th, 2002 Commission meeting revealed masked deceit !

( This article was prompted by that meeting !)
When City Manager, Ron McLemore, was hired by the City of Winter Springs, he opted out of the City's Pension Plan. He chose to invest and maintain his "private pension plan" separately. Because of the downturn in the economy causing the demise of some pension plans, his "private" pension plan did not do well ---- or to quote one of the Commissioners ---
"it went south ".
Now, he wants the taxpayers of the City of Winter Springs to fund his collapsing "private" pension plan's shortcomings, even though he chose to go another direction. His request was met with opposition at that Monday night meeting, when challenged by a very knowledgeable commissioner on the subject. The nail was driven home by another Commissioner, who also has expertise in the pension plan arena.
Thankfully, the opposition to this bailout was set aside until the first meeting in January. PFGG followed this ploy, by the City Manager, very closely. He had the support of the "3M's" (Martinez/Miller/McGiness) on the bailout at taxpayers' expense. There is absolutely no way the taxpayers should be subjected to this tremendous expenditure, because of the McLemore mistake. He even use the Police Chief as a smokescreen on this item to hide his personal pension plan failure !
Not only was that smokescreen used, but he wants it to be retroactive for the past three years. Is this the reason the City Manager hasn't presented his 2002 contract to the Commission prior to November, per a Commissioner's request? It's all on tapes of the meetings.
We have the details on this move by the City Manager, as published on this web site for your scrutiny. There was more on this agenda item, but it was a cleverly concealed agenda item. The real truth didn't come out until the Commission approved the misuse of your money. It was interesting watching how the City Manager manipulated "his" majority commission control of votes on this deceitful agenda item.
( The details were not available when actual agenda items were published. )
This item passed with a pre-loaded (3M's) Commission in the City Manager's clutches.

The City Manager did not miss any attempt to throw this on the agenda without prior notice, and most of all LACK of agenda details available to the public. His own type of personal "modus operandi" !

REMEMBER OUR PROPOSED LAKE JESSUP TEA PARTY
ON THIS WEB SITE about a year ago-- IT MAY BE TIME ?
Or --- how about --- "man-over-board" ?
is this city subject to --
"taxation without representation" ?

That Monday night meeting produced some very interesting "special Interest" items. It was long, and distracting from the agenda items ! everything from the lifespan of the "Midge Fly" to becoming an experimental subject city for a county project --- at winter springs taxpayers' expense.
The City of Winter Springs doesn't need to join the County to be experimental. It became an experimental City at the arrival of the current City Manager in 1996 !
