A CHANGE IN THE GOVERNMENT !
I hope our idiot commissioners are watching the news ..... specifically the City Manager in Largo... that nitwit wants to keep his job after a sex change operation at city expense. The city commission down there decided he/she had to go, and just refused to renew his/her contract.
If we had some commissioners with a little XXXX'X, that's all they have to do to get rid of McLemore .... It would only take three of them, not four to refuse to renew his contract ..... and he's gone!
EDITOR's NOTE: Actually all the City of Winter Springs needs is an office manager for personnel oversight, and a person who could evaluate COMPETITIVE BIDS. After all, the current city manager uses his personally selected CONSULTANTS in most all matters requiring his mis-usage of your tax dollars -- such as he presently controls. He was hired to bring in his "consultant friends" to be paid with your tax dollars!
Got one better than your -- "he/she" --news though writer - the mayor wants to appoint a --
"BUDGET REVIEW COMMITTEE". ----- D-A-H!
What in the heck are those
elected people
(?)
doing on the dais -- other than giving themselves raises --- playing
"ping-pong"
with your tax dollars yearly with the city manager in charge?
Talk about an opportunity to
"reward your
political cronies"
-- couldn't be any other reason -- unless they're
ALL
stupid !

A SMALL EXPENSE --- Vs. --- A "BIG" PROBLEM ?
What’s the big deal about Commissioner McLean being approved for an $8,000 expenditure that happens every 10 years versus this yearly expenditure that doesn’t even begin to show how much is spent on benefits, and perks for this newly created position at taxpayers’ expense. Who approved this newly created position to expand county government staff?
(Name and email address withheld)
(NOTE: Above email shows response from the contents of the Orlando Sentinel's article by Robert Perez -- 2/18/07 - Local Section. Local governments are out of control in ALL areas using our tax dollars. The below link is an opportunity to jump in on the "band-wagon" of spending the people's tax money. )
$72,012.93-$118,821.33 COUNTY MANAGER'S OFFICE/BCC/ (REQ NO 07/079-0) CLOSING DATE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED (PAY BAND: F1) - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of effective management, organizational structures, administration, and demonstrated leadership skills.

PUBLISHER'S NOTE: Doesn't the Winter Springs City Manager with ALL perks makes more than the
COUNTY MANAGER ? That doesn't speak highly of the Winter Springs "ruling(?)" Government !

Seminole Chronicle Sold -- Will It Print The Facts -- NOW ?
(Email Comment Received on the Subject Sale. Sender requests anonymity.)
For a link to an email rec'd, and the possible change to "FACTUAL" phase of reporting by the "NEW" owners of the hard to find Seminole Chronicle (Winter Springs City Hall seems to be the MAIN outlet) instead of the old established responsible news reporting --- but by a reporter hand fed by City staff --- mostly Bush/McLemore/commissioners sole input -- plus "political" letters by allies for the news of the City of Winter Springs. Cell Phone Tower in Tuscawilla. New Information !
(Emails have been received, but not yet published)
We -- PFGG -- warned the residents of the cell phone tower problem in the Tuscawilla area some time ago, and supported the residents fighting the Mayor/Gilmore/McLemore pack ---- in allowing their country club buddies acquire the right for a location on their private property.
( PFGG has just learned of the changes in the "NEW" ordinance (which was un-necessary), and will give our visitors the "locations ??" of the changes. The tower next to Country Club Village, and across from the Arrowhead Estates does not seem to be the locations selected. Watch for further information once the "NEW" ordinance is read and studied. If properly written it could continue to provide tax revenues to ease the tax burden now placed upon City citizens. Winter Springs is the" HIGHEST service taxed" city in Seminole County.
If you now have a carrier with "dead spots" the easiest remedy is to acquire a carrier more suitable for your "needs". The contact issue signed as a "two year" requirement will also be researched as to breaking such contracts due to inoperative systems currently within the City without building "new" towers.)
This writer in the 1996/1997 era presented a complete evaluation of the "cell tower problems" in the City of Winter Springs. The city understood the engineering presented, backed with published documentation, to the extent that only ONE tower (the one built at city hall) was the requirement. The THOA supported those findings and facts, and NOW are in the fold needed by the above faction of city government to dispense taxable revenues to a "private property owner" instead of supporting the citizens of the city. They care less about whose pockets they line.
The poll, supposing taken by a "selective" mail out by the current THOA is a farce of unknown engineering statistics unsupported by ANY carrier. If it is --- it's well hidden! This writer (a 31 year resident of Tuscawilla) had reception problems in our house until we changed to a more reliable carrier who had county, city, and Oviedo tower locations to supply needed communications.
The ONLY need for an additional tower could be a north/south carrier with cell phone locations possibility on Lake Jesup. The site for that tower was to be near the Sam Smith Park of which there is 63 areas of city property on which to put a out-of-the-way tower. But no --- Bush --- and cronies wants the revenue to go to THEIR golf course. It's the residents fault that these people are allowed to step on their constituents desires, but rather support the revenue into the pockets of "political supporters".
SHAME ON YOU TUSCAWILLA RESIDENTS --
You're allowing a homeowners association that represents probably less than 25% of the Tuscawilla residents to join in with their "political cronies" ! More on this subject to follow.
The email that triggered this on the PFGG website is linked -- ( Here )

Item taken from a Seminole County blog site ------ 1/25/07
"The Winter Springs City Commission is known for its reluctance to ever cross their city manager and not comply with his wishes, so it will be interesting to see how McLemore responds to having been reversed by the commission's going behind his back during his absence from their last meeting."
It's real interesting to see what people actually experience when they attend a Winter Springs commission meeting. PFGG has been pointing out the above problem for many years now, but this person's observation must have taken two meetings to come to this conclusion. The blog was much more in text, but this is the last paragraph of that particular blog.
This was in observation of the city manager over-riding ALL oppositions to a subject concerning fences and property lines. He had announced that the code stood as it was written, only to find that at the next meeting when the city manager was NOT PRESENT the commission over-ruled his earlier statement with a vote over turning his code demands.
Get rid of this city manager, his mayor, and a couple of his fixtures called commissioners, and the City might be returned to the ---- People of Winter Springs.

Garbage TAXED ?
----- Original Message -----

Subject: Garbage charge.
I read on your web site about that garbage add on that was taken wasn't a tax. Was it really a hidden charge?
What happened to the money?
( Name and address withheld per request.)
Over two years ago the Mayor was asked about this money during a meeting in the Highlands. Three people were present during this question to which the mayor replied "he would look into it, because he had some question himself".
The answer was NEVER given, although at a later commission meeting the city manager presented the dais with some phony percentage figures based upon complaints. His figures were checked out against the city's list to BFI Waste Management as reported, and his were found to have been juggled against the ACTUAL.
Based upon his report the "Bonus For Good Service" was withheld from any payment during the FULL 9 years, and that was the end of ANY accounting of those "secret charges" by the City. You'll NEVER get the TRUE answer from those that controlled the funds.

My Taxes Keep Going Up ?

Subject: Tax rates
I know my taxes have gone up many times the
past 6 years. Do you have the rates for each year? do not use my name I
live in Winter Springs.
( You didn't sign the letter, but your
email address could -- it is withheld -- it would also
identify you.)
Those rates can be found on your yearly tax statements sent out by Seminole County. The last increase we published was for 2004, which amounted to over 12% -- that's not the actual millage figure. That per centage is the dollar amount of the increase. That would be an interesting research project, however, since the city manager says there has only been ONE increase in ten years. That statement itself is a very false statement--- he hasn't even been here ten years.

More On Taxes !

Subject: Heck of a tax bill!
Our tax bill is staggering from the city. Why should Winter Springs need so much money? Do you think the proposed increase will be passed? Who is responsible for this mess?
(Your email address and initials are withheld as requested )
You're not going to like this answer. You -- the voters are responsible ! How can the voters continue to put the SAME people back in office is something for the voters to assume responsibility. Your "elected politicians" lied to you during their campaigns, and the voters sit back with apathy, and whine about their taxes, ridiculous codes, and lack of honesty by those same politicians.
As to the financial problems, those can be directly attributed to the city manager, and his poor management. He has to rely on expensive "tax paid consultants", and HIS "lapdog" commission to continue the spending frenzy pouring forth from the dais. They don't even have to listen to the citizens they "supposing" represent --- for they voted themselves "Home Rule Powers", and the people DID NOTHING !
It is doubtful that your taxes will be raised much. The retention pond behind City Hall (sludge runoff from the towncenter) is large enough to have a good "Boston Tea Party". Besides, the excuses used for raising taxes are as bogus as the officials requesting them.
Until the "Home Rule Power" is defeated, and the people could find responsible politicians that don't lie (don't hold your breathe) then the franticly spending of the city manager, and HIS commission will continue. Although you have a chance in 2006 to replace three of them, that still will do no good. The mayor is one of those three, and needs to removed, but he doesn't vote unless there's an absence, although he gets on his "soap-box-spending" sprees.

We're sorry -- but a couple of your emails will not be published. The language, no matter the references, is inappropriate. If you wish to resubmit, you are welcome to do so, with less in your agony of reporting what you think about the upcoming tax increases. We do, however, agree with your explosive epitaphs.
