Elections ------ 2006
PUBLISHER'S NOTE: PFGG does NOT endorse, support, or campaign for ANY candidate. However, when it is found that ANY campaign material carries blatant lies, and inaccurate facts, figures, or statements these will be pointed out on this site. A candidate that reverts to such type of a campaign does NOT deserve anybody's vote, and it is our intention, with our visitors help, to outline such materials.
You may email us with your findings at the address at the bottom of the page. If you wish to remain anonymous please state so, and your name will NOT be published ! Discretion may be used by PFGG for publishing of emailed materials. They must contain justifiable, and truthful contents -- unlike that being published in certain news media. Those news media sources have habits of publishing letters containing false information.
For some time PFGG has been in the process of seeking an easy method to publish the financial reports of the various candidates seeking office within the local area such as the City of Winter Springs, and particularly the race for County Commission seat #2.
This has become a much huger enterprise than previous years, because of the financial support being politicized by the candidates, and their campaigns. This is attributed to the LARGE contributions now being funneled in to the various campaigns by richly endowed "special interests ", developers, realtors, property management groupies, business professions, political endorsements, and unknown sources contributing under the guise of such endorsements.
Special notice and analysis should be taken by those soliciting those cash contributions especially when their campaign materials i.e. -- flyers, newspaper ads, media presentations, and etc. is in strict contradiction to the campaign contributions by the campaigns list of contributors. Those contributions will show the money trails of past votes as cast by members seeking re-election, or even in the Seminole County races seeking higher political careers. That money does leave trails of favors granted, or the soliciting of upcoming projects requiring "political favor " promises by a candidate.
PFGG will be conducting our own analysis based upon our gathering of the list of contributors, the amount of cash thrown into a particular campaign, and the TOTAL amounts listed in a breakdown of certain questionable categories. This you will NOT find in any news media, because they themselves will enact their own endorsements not on such a review as that by PFGG, but strictly from a newspapers endorsement of a candidate based solely upon longevity of "political careers", and personal interviews sometimes very slanted to form their opinions.
EXAMPLES of FORCED CONTRIBUTIONS, or ENDORSEMENTS ---
Example -- one candidate campaigning as being successful in "GROWTH MANAGEMENT" when in essence the candidate was part of the largest undertaking of annexation projects in Central Florida, which has cause a mass of HIGH DENSITY developments causing undo burden upon schools, roadways, and governmental provided services at taxpayers expense.
Example -- the endorsement of groups trying to maintain their status quo under duress by governmental officials who are required to approve labor contracts, or maintain one just enacted requiring the vote of that public official.
Example -- TAXES. Where has a candidate stood on taxes. These are especially vulnerable on an incumbent's campaigning position. Do they claim they have maintain a low tax base when in essence when checking their tax voting records does not support such claims? This is also used as a campaign "promise " issue --- when actually they have voted consistently for tax increases. Their voting records should be a comparison to their "campaign promises ". Generally one can find this issue being over exaggerated by mainly the incumbent's with a voting history.
Example -- now being used to a major extreme is the terminology "family values". How does this apply? Once again this issue can be tied to a voting history. How have the constituents been treated fairly as far as code ordinances, zoning ordinances, over-building actions -- all of which put hardships upon the existing public tax base in the name of "growth ". You must take in ALL types of taxes -- even those generally well hidden under the disguise of "service taxes " merely to off-set enormous expenditures in other areas, and egomania personal projects.
So, when comparing campaigns, however, the most important component is as usual the list of contributors, and the expenditures showing how the funds were used. Sometimes the expenditures can show a weakness by over-spending in areas of "political publicity" to off-set voting records as a member of a commission, or council. This shows emphasis being placed on sometimes very LACKING, or short-sightless of a candidates voting history.
In one race for two separate offices in this years elections there has been an obvious dual usage of campaign material substance by two candidates not running for the same office, but each strongly endorsing the other for their election. PFGG will not point this area out, because it could become a subject for review as to the payments of such by the State of Florida Elections Commission should it be proven to be a valid reporting error of expenditures. You may however, write us with any observance of such practices by candidates that may stand-out in your opinion. Send such by email to --
Now for some campaign expense reports.
(This is just the first segment of the upcoming reports. The County, due to the early primary, is being published first. We've tried to make this search as easy as possible. The County at first had website problems, but it has since been straighten out. Due to the length, and size of the material found on the County's site PFGG decided to go directly as much as possible to that County site link. So just follow the instructions given on the link below that has been made for easy routing.)
(City figures available on city website -- if you want the agony of the search and adjustments.)
We not be publishing these reports as of this time. The Winter Springs commission voted Monday night ( August 14th ) to put these reports on the City website. Now -- when, and how accessible the City makes them is not known. Pfgg will keep you advised on this issue --- once they are posted.
