Political Moves Are Already in Motion for the 2006 City Election !

Mayor's "gouge letter speech" of the 9/12/05 Commission meeting is a phony !

          Mayor claims NEW garbage pick-up service is going to have to be increased.    Yet he doesn't say anything about the $2.03 per month that the city has been gouging the citizens for NINE YEARS!   Yes for nine years the City Manger conned up a phony incentive plan --- paid for by taxpayers --- that was used for other purposes.    This is the same phony charges the Mayor was asked about two years ago, and he said he would look into it ---- which he NEVER did (three witnesses to the conversation).

          What else are you going to hide Mayor?    You hide the ENORMOUS (166+% increases) raises you, and the commissioners absconded with to offset your lavish new spending/golfing requirements.    Gilmore was also in on that issue --- I guess that's why you two can now enjoy playing golf together at the Tuscawilla Country Club.    Quite a change from the less expensive Winter Springs golf course --- isn't it Mayor?    It must be true --- politicians have no integrity, or moral conscience !    How are you going to finance Blake's WiFi system --- a $3.2 million dollar toy ?

            Now the reality of how the city manager, and "his" commission is trying to mislead, and bamboozle the citizens of Winter Springs is coming to the surface.    It's being done using all the propaganda tools available to throw the public off track.   

          By that we are referring to the "public agendas" published on the City's web site, which filters any, and all the misleading statements they can feed the public and news media.   The media doesn't kept records such as the last tax raise in all the cities they cover.   So the CM says what he wants.

          As a prime example of how the news media is being lead by the nose is the publishing of the crime statistics within the boundaries of the City of Winter Springs.    It's either "lazy news journalists", or the city's ability to hide these from the public.    The second reason is more probable.

          From other reports, only the crime in the City is in unincorporated Seminole County as is published.    Lacking is the fact, available from other records, is in actuality that the crime rate in Winter Springs now exceeds over 21% of the previous year.    This can be directly attributed to the increase in "hi-density developments" now being occupied, which has increased the population of Winter Springs to over 41,000+ residents.    

          The end is --- NO WHERE IN SIGHT !    Current commercial development is twice the size, and is unseen as to what the city manger/commissioners have planned.     The city manger doesn't have the guts to put those plans on the web site.    Maybe the public would like to know of the other parking garages being planned by developers.    Not the two currently revealed by the city manager, but the parking garages behind the McDonalds for the high rise condos on current plans.

          That's FOUR parking garages for a shopping center that has NO SHOPS.    How many Publix shoppers will want to lug their groceries to a multi-story parking garage?    Or how about walking three blocks for a hot dog, hamburger, or tortilla ?     Gosh, the police could pick you up for having an open container of booze on a towncenter sidewalk.    They can give you a ticket at home if you have a beer talking with a neighbor on the sidewalk --- while mowing your yard.   The City's --- NUTS !

           So, while the city manager, and "his" commission play games with the minds of the taxpayers, the REAL need for the HUGE increases is coming to the surface.    It's called ---- OVER DEVELOPMENT --- at the expense of the taxpayers, while the city manager, and the commissioners friends reek their profits by increasing land populations with zero-lot-line high-rises, and high-density developments.    The city manager needs this to feed the lagging sales in his "glorified strip mall" --- aka towncenter.

          That is easily accomplished, as one of our up-and-coming articles will point out, by falsifying the additional tax needs in the hopes the publics memory of previous tax manipulations won't be discovered.    The pattern has already been set with the city manager's claim of "one tax raise in the last ten years"!     He hasn't even been here ten years, and his "one tax increase" is as phony as was his statement.    The whole commission and city management is playing games with your money.
