COMMISSIONERS VIOLATE THEIR OWN LAW !
THEY MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF CODE ORDINANCE !

At a recent Commission meeting, a lady came forth asking for a variance on the code surrounding the placement of a structure around a dumpster on her commercial property. The Code has such stringent restrictions placed on dumpster sites -- such as ---
|
Must survive the severe hurricane restrictions placed upon building structures under State guidelines. Gale forces to 225 mph wind bursts, or more.
|
Must be constructed of concrete block in order to meet those requirements, and on a reinforced concrete slab. They approve building requirements that wouldn't meet this code.
|
The drainage of that slab must meet all ground water run-off requirement to enhance the quality of water seeping into the underground aquifer.
|
The outer coating of the reinforced concrete enclosure must meet with neighborhood environmental colors, and not distracting from the esthetics of its surroundings.
|
Penalties for failure to comply will be enormous, and no mercy shown. |
Needless to say, the Commission overwhelmingly voted down her request for financial relief, and threw her to the code violation dog pound. It will cost her over $5,000 to comply with this City's strict building code surrounding the 8 X 8 foot dumpster. With this City's unmitigated irresponsibility to its citizens, this comes as no surprise. After All---- it is the City of Winter Springs !

The picture of the City's dumpster has been removed. City officials have built another of their TAX SPENDING monstrosities, and enclosed the missing dumpster. The enclosure is well above a $25,000 dollar City expenditure, since they were embarrassed with the "pornographic" dumpster picture that they displayed at City Hall. Drive by and take a look at your tax dollars spent to enclose the City's "TRASH".
ISN'T THIS ENCLOSED DUMPSTER PRETTY ?
AFTER ALL ----- IT MUST BE ----- IT'S TO CITY CODES !
City Manager ---- Is this a case of don't do as I do, do as I say ?
