Coffee Klatch among "Political Friends"
Jim Toner’s assumption in the November 7th Orlando Sentinel that Brenda Carey, the newly seated Seminole County Commissioner, will be “unlikely to sit quietly as other people push the agenda” is right on target.
Carey will be busy pushing her agenda. Naturally, it will probably include the under the table campaign promises she made to her supporter City of Winter Springs Mayor John Bush while sipping coffee in his living room this past summer.
Now with a “friend ” securely in place on the County dais, Mayor Bush must think he has the inside track for gaining the upper-hand in the fight over the charter amendment between the County and Winter Springs.
With Carey sitting squarely in Bush’s lap, time will only tell whether Carey will please her political co-conspirator by brewing a recipe for destruction of rural lands in eastern Seminole County by assisting Bush in overturning the voters’ will --- in court.

Casselberry being suckered in by winter springs !
The City of Casselberry’s stake in the fight against Seminole County’s charter amendment, aimed specifically at Winter Springs, has been suspicious from the start. Casselberry has no rural lands to worry about and worrying about what the county MIGHT do in the future is a sham. The County’s intent of the charter amendment is clear as can be.
Then why is fear being struck into the minds of Casselberry’s elected officials to propel that municipality into the fight? It only takes three attorneys, one Winter Springs City Manager, and one re-elected City Commissioner to connect the dots as to Casselberry being dragged into the fight.
In Casselberry, City Attorney Catherine D. Reischmann is doing her level best to ensure that the City of Winter Springs doesn’t stand alone in the public’s eye and in court against the County’s charter amendment. As a partner in the law firm of Stenstrom, McIntosh, Colbert, Whigham, Reischmann & Partlow, she and her attorney husband William E. Reischmann are well-entrenched in municipal politics and politicos in Seminole County. The Reischmann's’ involvement in the Tuscawilla Homeowners’ Association, and the City of Winter Springs is well documented.
But what most people don’t know, especially Orlando Sentinel reporter Robert Perez, is that the Reischmanns can practically spit from their house into the swimming pool of their Glen Eagle neighbor and Winter Springs City Manager Ronald McLemore. Now, isn’t that cozy? And, if you want real cozy, all they need to do is make a quick call to Winter Springs City Attorney Anthony “Boom-Boom” Garganese to make the 5 minute jog from his house in Arrowhead. Picture it, a lovely pool-side cabana chat among the four Tuscawilla neighbors in Winter Springs strategizing how to bring Casselberry into the fight so Winter Springs’ fight in court looks legitimate. Or, are Winter Springs officials hoping other municipalities will join in the battle to share the financial burden of a protracted court fight?
Of course, all this wouldn’t be complete unless you guarantee that Donald Gilmore, a candidate for Winter Springs City Commission District 3 race, wins re-election assuredly over opponent Rick Keel. Remember, City Manager McLemore needs his lap dog commission more than ever now that he wants to overturn the Seminole County voters’ will. So, why does it not come as a surprise that William Reischmann infused Gilmore’s re-election campaign with a nice monetary contribution?
Oh, what a tangled web they weave…
Casselberry Citizens, WAKE UP and smell the stench! Your elected officials are being led by the nose by City Attorney Catherine Reischmann, who can care less if your tax dollars are being spent to ensure Winter Springs victory. Ask yourself, who is she serving – Casselberry citizens, or her Winter Springs neighbors Ronald McLemore and Anthony Garganese?
