THE  BOGUS  LETTER !

March 22, 2008

Mayor John Bush loses all his senses, so he wants to tax you to get them back!

After seeing the Mayor John Bush’s letter in the city’s Insider (delivered Good Friday, March 21, 2008), it is as clear as can be whose side of the fire service tax the Mayor sits on.   And it also shows that Mayor Bush will not hesitate to lie and demean citizens to help the city manager and him realize their revenue dreams.

Is the mayor playing Judas in all this city hall deceit that he is willing to betray the citizens of Winter Springs and deliver them to the tax collector for 30 pieces of silver?    Bush has mislead, misinformed not just good citizens and business owners but the commission as well.    He doesn’t care who he hurts or that he is taking food from seniors or the less fortunate through this new tax in order to continue to build his and the city manager’s Roman shrine in the town center.

PFGG seriously questions whether Mayor John Bush has the capacity to serve as mayor any longer because he is not in a sane person’s right mind.   His letter, in its vicious tone and lies, is strong evidence to support our question.

And was it lost on anyone but PFGG that the Mayor’s letter about the fire tax was followed by a two-page spread on the city’s funded Celebration of Spring?    How much is that event going to cost taxpayers?    So they are willing to tax citizens again but they are not willing to cut the overspending? Who can celebrate Spring when not only the federal government is after your money in April but the City of Winter Springs too?

And, what are we to believe from a city manager who would allow this deceit all to play out in the Insider over Easter weekend?   When will people notice that McLemore is an addicted government spender who cannot control a budget let alone the psycho-babble that comes out of his mouth or on the pages of the Insider?   If you listen to the man ramble for more than five minutes, you will soon realize how full of himself he really is and that he doesn’t have much in essentials to lead a city.

Contrary to anything he says, McLemore has NOT cut the city’s budget!    He only removed the fire service department from the budget to lower the city tax rate by the State Legislature’s mandate.    He then devised a way to fund fire service by taxing citizens again through a fire fee.    Your taxes will not go down that much and you will be paying more with the fee for the same amount of service.   Meanwhile the pork spending on McLemore’s pet projects and events continue with the help of Mayor John Bush.

What is critical for City Manager McLemore is that the fire assessment fee bills arrive at property owners mailboxes in early April.   He wants revenue flowing in by the end of April.    All the while when city hall will be inundated by angry or confused citizen phone calls about the fire tax bills, McLemore will be on a conveniently planned 3-week vacation.   And to ensure the commission does not act upon anything during his absence, he has demanded that city business the commission must conduct be stopped until his return in May.    So citizens and businesses are being taxed twice so city government can take a 3-week vacation?    Who does the manager think he is?    His level of arrogance is not to be born any longer.

But of course Mayor Bush will be a lame duck on this matter because he doesn’t have the golf balls between his legs to take the manager to task and call the required special meetings or workshops that should take place during that time frame.    Mayor Bush will be party to McLemore’s government shut down.   Clearly, Mayor Bush’s long and dreary reign has been marked by one disappointment and embarrassment after another.    Citizens deserve better representation in City Hall.   They deserve a government that can run even when a city manager is on vacation.    You are paying taxes for it dearly, that is the least the Mayor can do.

Citizens, it is time to rise up and take charge.   Hold elected officials accountable especially Mayor John Bush to conduct government as it should and in manner becoming of a civil person.    And, if we citizens are the least bit fortunate, the commission will act responsibly by not resorting to this fire tax but taking IMMEDIATE action to work together to cut the McLemore pork from the city budget regardless of the city manager’s vacation plans or opinion.

Go to the March 24th, 2008 Commission meeting to hear and see the REAL figures you won't EVER get from the City.    The mayor and city manager don't want you to know the REAL TRUTH !
