Affordable - low income housing

Blake and McLemore stage dialog to conceal the HUGE pension plans for the city manager !

Blake -- " The portion that goes into the pension contribution is based only on your base salary?"

McLemore -- "Yes --- I wouldn't ask for anything more than what we're doing for the other employees."

Blake -- "The city paid retirement, seventeen thousand and twenty dollars ($17,020.00). How is that calculated ?"

McLemore -- "The number is actually based on the eleven percent (11%) comes out of my salary now."

Blake -- "That's was the answer I was looking for."

The above, although stage as it is, is as about as deceitful as the entire city commission with the city manager thrown in as its leader. Forget the so-called mayor --- he's just a rambling voice on the dais --- because he was in on this farce as much as every commissioner --- EXCEPT Commissioner Krebs -- who voted -- NAY on this phony package! She saw through the ploy of the city manager and Blake.

What makes the Blake/McLemore dialog so phony is that it only addresses ONE PENSION PLAN ! The taxpayers of Winter Springs contribute to THREE pension plans for McLemore. They are as follows, and remember the following figures are for the prior year of 2005, so just add his increases of which Blake has already revealed one -- the regular city which went to $17,020.00 for 2006.

Regular City Plan -- $16,794.24 ** ICMA457 -- $16,000.00 ** ICMA401(a) -- $16,122.47

Car Allowance -- $4,800.00 ** (Only one city employee has a car allowance - it's his car.)

That is more than 97% of the City employees make for a year just going into this one man's retirement package!

Hey -- his "rat pack" commission followers plus city attorney haven't done bad either under this man's monarchy!

Ex-commissioner McLeod, soon to be ex-commissioner Blake, and two of their buddies -- including the mayor -- tripled their pay within the past three years. That's all these people want --- your tax dollars!

Mayor John F. Bush is leading his "rat pack " followers on the Winter Springs commission* to the plotting the course for workforce housing, his new politically correct way of saying affordable housing, next to Wildwood and the Highlands on the land he helped get changed to medium density residential housing.

Bush cleverly laid the ground work for bringing government assisted housing to Winter Springs at a special meeting on August 21, 2006 that he called in great haste, and without much notice to the public. The mayor always claims he has nothing to do with the meetings --- HE'S RIGHT --- HE CAN'T EVEN RUN A MEETING --- he's weak, and generally talks out of both sides of his mouth!

The city would be better off WITHOUT this mayor! He's too expensive for what he does!

This is becoming a habit of the city now that election is nearing. In fact they did exactly the same thing on August 23rd when they changed the meeting from a workshop to a "special" meeting so they could vote prior to the election to benefit those seeking office. That vote will cost the taxpayers dearly!

It was in that meeting that during a discussion on the issue it was brought out by one of the city's friends from Tallahassee by the name of Jamie Ross. Whoever paid her to come down her and preach to the con artists on the dais could have saved somebody some money.

Bush and his dais buddies already had planned ahead for this when they deceitfully changed the zoning code. That dais bunch hides every move they make, which cleverly hides the agenda from the public. McLemore is an artist at this type of city government, and his "rat pack" goes right along with his EVERY move.

Anyway, what Jamie Ross said was something that has existed since McLemore has been city manager. It is a problem something to the effect that ---

"The housing prices in Winter Springs were such that employees of Winter Springs could NOT afford to live in the City of Winter Springs"

So what did the city's rulers do --- they probably will make a move on that track of land just changed from industrial to high density residential on SR419 up around the Highlands/Wildwood to allow it to be changed to "affordable housing". It would seem that was the plan all along since they went against their own planning and zoning board in approving the project.

After all, they don't want to force their developer buddies building around that strip mall called "Tiny Town" to lower those building standards to reach that low. Why that might even affect ex-commissioner McLeod's "Luxury" condos going up on SR 434. That's the project they allowed him to make 2.4 million dollars while seated as a commissioner. Sure is a good life being a professional politician -- isn't it?

The City of Winter Springs has FIVE professional politicians, and one UN -professional city manager on the city dais! That five includes the mayor.

PFGG is developing a list of the campaigns City projects give to the campaigns of Winter Springs professional politicians trying to improve their political careers. That list shall consist of not only the developers, but contractors, lawyers, property owners, real estate companies, property management companies, but also the "professional politicians themselves. It's an extensive list.
