 "RAT PACK".

(From the Orlando Sentinel of June 11th, 2006)

"-- thinks it was one person at the city (Winter Springs) fighting for the right

to head east -- "that cotton pickin' Ron McLemore."

Of the city manager, (name withheld) said, "I think he was the Pied Piper.

He had them - (commissioners) - following along like a bunch of little rats."

The weird problem with this highly respected Black Hammock resident is that he is backing the BIGGEST annexation "rat in the pack" for his rise to a position as County Commissioner from his Winter Springs commission seat.   That would give Mayor Bush his three needed votes on the County Commission to override any of the promises made about annexations.     It's the same commissioner who lead the [ "shotgun annexation"] !

That would NOT be the first time --- Bush, and the Winter Springs McLemore's "rat pack" commissioners broke the previous agreements on annexation 12 years ago when the famous "line-in-the-sand" was drawn between Oviedo and Winter Springs.      Read the complete story from our archives called "[ Fuzzy Math ] ".

Bush WAS mayor then, and by dropping their ungodly law suit against the County, and the voters of Seminole County, all they need is that third vote on the County's commission.     With Bush's previous years of endless "politicking" he would --- with current commissioners ---

NOW HAVE THAT THIRD VOTE ON THE COUNTY DAIS !

This is also the same commissioner who recently held a campaign money raising meeting in "downtown Orlando".   He has gotten not only got $1,000 dollars from the Winter Springs city attorney & firm, but also $1,000 dollars from the city manager of Winter Springs "rat-pack" leader "Pied Piper" Ronnie McLemore, and his wife's real-estate/mortgage broker/home loans/computer jobs listings businesses.    That fits in real nice with the city managers passion, and drive for the gutting of the Winter Springs landscape with high rise condos, and townhouses.   Look around you --- there was even a seated commissioner who reaped a $2.4 million dollar profit from these huge developments while still seated as a acting commissioner!

Here's the biggest line of BULL ever from the CITY HALL PULPIT

of Ronald McLemore to the pages of the Seminole Chronicle newspaper.
"I have preached all my career ... that we really need to stop thinking of our budget as a spending plan, and start thinking of it as an investment plan, meaning if it doesn't add value, don't do it,"
 McLemore said.

We hardly think that spending $170,000+ on McLemore's salary is an "investment."  Besides, citizens don't want him preaching to them, they have long seen beyond his exaggerated and deceptive rhetoric.

For  example  if  it ----

Is a choice between spending citizens' tax dollars to help defray the cost of municipal employee's rising health premiums, or on the other hand planting $8,000 worth of palm trees on private property in the town center, McLemore chooses the $8,000 of public palm trees on private property every time.

(Just to enlighten the emailer on this subject -- the "micro-managing" commission has thrown ANOTHER blunderbuss obstacle in the face of a "future (?) tenant of "Tiny Town"  --- by not allowing the developer to put in what is BEST for his business, but what they -- the "DRC-ing" commissioners want.   They want a "stupendous statute" and another "gushing fountain" so the "strollers" of their "GLORIOUS TOWNCENTER"-- (aka strip mall) -- can rest -- eat their lunches -- and enjoy the scenery.

I wonder why they spent $225,000 for that thing they call a park on the corner at SR434 & Tuscawilla Rd. (now covered with strung-together bed-sheet billboard outlining  festivity in a city park.      All of this for "strolling shoppers" in the towncenter.)

These commissioners are "weirdo's" -- people can't even park in that -- "strip mall" !

No wonder businesses are closing/leaving, and not renewing leases !

Don't you know that sending public funds on private property "adds value" and that spending it on city employees' health doesn't?      By the way --- can anyone really tell -- WHO OWNS THE PROPERTIES ?

(McLemore ---- in a " Speech to the Oviedo Chamber of Commerce" --   Link to Speech -- said the city spent $12 million dollars on developing 250 acres of property by floating utility bonds?)

(This is not a part of ex-commissioner McLeod's $2.4 million dollar "windfall" land profit made while seated on the dais.   He was a part of that "five member commission DRC" committee during his tenure.   He purchased and SOLD the property involved while seated as a commissioner.)

Oh, unless you're Ronald McLemore who seems to get himself any raise, or concession he wants.   Or, if there is choice between making sure experienced, long-term firefighters stay in Winter Springs by paying them fairly according to length of service, or on the other hand giving the city's labor attorney a substantial hourly rate increase, according to McLemore he will choose the labor attorney because padding a professionals' pockets adds value while fairly paying firefighters doesn't.   What do you expect from a guy who just got a 4% raise to make him one of the highest paid public officials in Central Florida?

another news media quote from the dais !

Politicos love to be quoted by local news media.    That exposure, however, can lead to some very questionable, and "goofy" mouthed quotes by a very questionable mentality from your elected representatives.    The below quote is a prime example of mouth overloading  practical comparisons.   Commissioner Miller's comparison leaves highly questionable motives reflected within his statement to the press --- unless he's referring to the type of governmental control maintained by the City of Winter Springs by his references.

One will never know in advance what gushes forth from Commissioner Miller's plush throne on the dais of the Winter Springs Commission.     Some are definitely moments of instantaneous laughter!

Just when we were thinking the well was running dry from Commissioner Miller's mouth, we struck gold.    Here's a ditty from the same Seminole Chronicle article, let's call it ---

"Commissioner Robert Shirley Miller gone daffy --- again ?"
"Some of these things if we don't do them, five years from now this is going to be a poorer city for that," he said, adding, "Should we make it a city like Paris, or a city like Baghdad?" --

Well, we know Miller's been to Baghdad for college (so he claims, but who wants to go to check that claim out), and we guess Miller's been to Paris for some type of treatment, but the question is how do we get Robert Shirley Miller to move to the city of his dreams (Paris) since most of us citizens know that Winter Springs will never be Paris (or Baghdad for that matter) regardless of what happens in the towncenter.

news media strikes towncenter as ------ "strip mall" !

Oh gosh, what did WFTV's Bob Opshal just recently call it?    Oh yeah ---- that's it -----,

"the Winter Springs town center strip mall."

Since when has the city of Paris, or Baghdad ever been compared to a strip mall Commissioner Miller?

There's a new "Sheriff of Nottingham" in the city government.   The city manager's contract (the last one -- we don't know about the newest contract -- yet) had the taxpayers of Winter Springs paying $50,916.91 yearly into his THREE personal retirement plans.    This was the will of the "rat pack"* commission.    For TEN YEARS this man has been blindsiding the taxpayers of Winter Springs.    His retirement packages is just ONE good example of the misuse of your tax dollars by the current City government.

(As matter of record --- newest Commissioner Krebs was the ONLY vote against the city manager's new contract.    The Mayor doesn't even have the guts to veto his buddy's "lush" contract.)

By the way, in researching municipalities, and the commercial business world, it has been found that the contributing percentages into individual retirement packages ranges from 3.8% to 4%.  You can figure out your contributions as taxpayers to the city manager's retirement fund.    His total annual income for 2005 was $163,240.00 of which there is also a $4,800 dollar car expense included.   YOU DO THE MATH !

Don't  you  wish  you  worked  for  the  current  mayor  and  city  commission ?

The mayor will say he had nothing to do with the above --- but he has NEVER vetoed ONE city taxpayer expenditure* issue by McLemore's "Rat Pack" commission.     He can't -- he's part of the problem !

* Don't forget -- prior to last years elections -- it was this same commission, and mayor that voted for  themselves raises from $7,000 per year to $22,000.    The "Rat Pack" at work !

against not only the citizens -- but a City Planning Board -- It's POLITICS! !

City Commission overrides the Planning and Zoning City Board on the Shepard road scam.   They converted a commercial low density zoning to a HIGH (they say medium -- just wait) density residential zoning.    Remember --- "Tiny Town" needs shoppers, or more merchants will be closing up.    It was about number six that locked it's doors last week leaving citizens with paid up memberships (health club) out of luck.    Why even go through the disguise of even having a P & Z city board.    The commission does what McLemore wants.

(During the heated conversation with a citizen --- Miller indicated the commission had been working on this for over two years.    HUM --- and they just made it public !    Is something missing here?)

The vote on that issue was another 4 to 1 with newest Commissioner Krebs the sole vote against it.    She also asked some straight forward questions that were artfully dodged by the "Rat Pack" members.    Strange also was that just after the vote Commissioner Blake (seeking county commission seat), and his buddy city manger McLemore (with NEW pay raise contact enacted) rushed from the dais to the lobby to consult with the developer having just received their favorable vote.     Voters are still naive to think that developers/builders don't control the Winter Springs dais.    Look at campaign financial reports  prior to elections --- see where the money is coming from.     Bet most of the money isn't from private individual VOTING citizens!

Even McLemore/his businesses and city attorney Garganese/law firm contributed $1,000 dollars to the Blake campaign.     That's $500.00 (max allowed by law) contributed personally plus $500.00 from their businesses.     PFGG did a search on the McLemore real estate/mortgaging/brokerage businesses.    We will be publishing those four pages of records soon.    It's an  ASTONISHING  list coming out of 1620 Eagle Nest Circle!

The City of Winter Springs will control three votes on the County Commission -- if Blake is elected along with the current listing of Bush's personal backing by Henley and Carey.      That's the reason that voter referendum  lawsuit went away.    Wait until they control that County Commission --- as they do in the City of Winter Springs.    Here comes more of "Builder Bob" Blake's support for City growth and annexations.
