request for public records
These document requests were made by this writer personally, as shown by the undersigned. This was done since the phone calls were received by the writer, and confidentiality had to be maintained to assure the callers of our concerns, and respect for their dilemmas. To assure those callers of their privacy, no attempt has been made to trace or investigate further into the sources of the phone calls, nor were names used in any document requests.
This was not needed, since the allegations were indeed true. The handling of the situation was accurately stated in the phone calls. Proper authorities HAD been made aware of the problem, but the lack of responsible action was totally ignored and concealed.
the
first fax!

The first fax received absolutely no response. A second more demanding document was faxed to City Hall on April 23rd. This brought the reply from the City Manager's office, which became a rush to conceal documents by trying to create total confusion. Those antics, however, were confronted and dealt with according to the requirement under State Law to produce the paperwork. The City's attempt to cause havoc was thwarted.

The response as indicated above did not happen. The files suddenly seemed to be in someone else's office, who didn't happen to be there. Finally, on Friday, the 26th, without assurance that the documents would be produced, we went to City Hall and learned the file was in the City Manager's office.
While at City Hall, we were told the City Manager would be in shortly, only to find out that he had possibly taken Friday off (not unusual) to go to Georgia to visit his kids. We were determined, and we would not leave until the documents could be obtained and copied.
persistence paid off ---- we got the documents!
