Bush Quote & Stuff

Well now the whole gimmick imagery has been going on for years, and yet mayor of the city of Winter Springs still doesn't get it ! His quote in the very last line of the above (left) has to be an imaginary assumption on his part, or he hasn't viewed the pending disasters within the boundaries of Winter Springs of which he played such a big roll. Just look at the weed filled empty developments started by his political campaign contributors.

He, and the commission, as led by the money-hungry city manager, have managed to put Winter Springs Florida into one of the top tiered cities slated for the most cuts in property taxes in the Central Florida area. That cut being a 9% per cent break of relief for the city's property owners. They have won the distinction of one of the few cities in the State for that big tax slash as ordered by the State.

Why would the people ask, who voted to put these "trusted politicians" in charge of spending their tax dollars, is the city in such a dreadful need of tax slashing? It's simple -- they were CONNED-- with "hot air campaign rhetoric"! Not only do those city hierarchists have to make cuts, but they have one of the most HIGHEST service tax (phone, power, water, cable TV, & etc.) bases in the State of Florida.

But it gets better yet with the appointment of a committee to tell them where the cuts are to be made. That committee of 21 citizens is to get them -- who caused the problem in the first place -- off the hook. They can always say "the committee recommended the changes " -- therefore eliminating any of those changes from being the commission/mayor/city manager's doings. This charade being an idea of mayor Bush.

Still, that's not all! Who did they appoint to spearhead the committee but the VERY PEOPLE who also were responsible as ex- commissioner politicians. Chairing the committee is Michael Blake, whose "special interest/developers " laden campaign fund (he was running for County commissioner -- soundly defeated) along with his former commissioner buddies --- Gennell, McLeod, and Martinez (other defeated politicians).

Special note: McLeod never faced an opponent, and while seated as a commissioner gained a $2.4 million dollar income on property in "Towncenter zoning" while voting for this "special zoning", and other amenities for the slumbering "Tiny Town. That wasn't the only project of which he is a part owner. All four of the above are expected to run again to reap the financial gain as politicians they voted in for themselves while in office. Blake for mayor, and possibly McLeod for, once again, personal income gain through the manipulating of property development within the city. A look behind the high school will show where one of his developer cronies has allowed the project's properties to deteriorate.

One must remember it was these politician commissioners who voted themselves raises from $300 - $350 dollars a month to over $22,000 to $24,000 per year. These same commissioners approved over $75,000 per year to be paid into the city manager retirement funds of which two are his private plans -- to one of the already highest paid city managers in the State of a city of Winter Springs stature -- probably the State. The City of Winter Springs is excessively top-high in management salary areas as promoted by the city manager.

They wanted a "rigged " committee of twenty-one (21) people to solve the problems they themselves (7 people) created? Kind of a cowardly way of not accepting any responsibility, as a people's representative, in charge of the people's money so they politically can hide from their blinding spending frenzies!

In fact, due to the over-handed guidance of chairman Blake in the scheduling of the committee's meetings (must be for his personal convenience) one member asking a lot of pointed questions about city finances finally resigned. Even the minuend minutes of this committee's meetings have to be challenged.

You can't have an all day meeting expelling so little in writing of the actual meeting itself. It has been known for years that approval of such minutes are at the hands of the city manager, as revealed by a former city clerk's office employee, that there is little doubt he doesn't want the FULL story to be published in writing. You'll NEVER find any real minutes on the city website.

It really can't be true -- the mayor's above quote in the Orlando Sentinel article --

We have yet to analyzed any of the "so-called" minutes of the contents of the 21 person committee meetings, but due to the contents of the emails we shall research further into their contents -- plus the document requests coming from those meetings. This alone is a long and rigorous research project for the present documentation in our archives may not contain some of the text/subjects of your emails.

The above article was done merely to show that your city government/management was obviously for the past few years OVERCHARGING the city's citizens for excessive taxes needlessly. PFGG has known this for years, and throughout our website during the past nine + years has dwelt with the deficiencies of your city's head masters. Voters DID NOT pay attention, and kept RE-ELECTING those with the hidden truth. However, until we see positive action from the two NEWEST members on the dais it is hard to tell, or anticipate the actions of the future issues.

We will tell you that spending time to remove the coups of non-existing chickens, and trying to abolish children's "petting zoos" is NOT a good sign! Of course the mayor could've kill such frivolous waste of tax payers time, and money by not allowing such ridiculous subjects to even be brought forth.
