The Pension Plan Ploy For Personal Gain !

            A startling development occurred in yet the continuing saga of "The Pension Plan".   The Mayor moved this highly controversial issue to the front  of the Commission meeting of 1/27/03.    The scantily published agendas pertaining to the Pension Plan (five agenda items addressed this issue) met yet another barrier.

            The City Manager requested that all the agendas addressing this issue be tabled, because he was under the weather --- in other words - sick.

yet, he remained for the rest of the meeting to it's conclusion!

Yes, this is stranger than fiction.     What took place?     Did it possibly require a conscience?

            This six page agenda will show the intentions of City Manager McLemore.   Take a look at agenda item number 33 as it appears on this page, and inform yourself of how you would vote on this issue.   The information to this item was not available when this writer went to City Hall the afternoon of Friday --- January 24th.   This item was not made available to the Orlando Sentinel for publication in their Sunday edition see page K-6.         

          An honest representative of our City Government would vote this agenda item down.   The other choice would be to present this item to LOCAL QUALIFIED PEOPLE for a thorough and complete evaluation.   This, however, may be impossible with the City Manager's controlled Commission --- who would appoint a person in his favor as they have in the past.   The Mayor should be allowed to appoint an INDEPENDENT BOARD without the influence of the controlled Commission.

Being Super Bowl Week -- if one could bet on the outcome of the City Manager's Pension Plan Ploy -- PFGG would lay 8 to 5 the City Manager will hire his consultant to a "SPECIAL BOARD".

                Past boards have been laced with political appointments by certain commissioners without any regard of representation for the citizens of Winter Springs.    This was evident on the so-called "CHARTER REVIEW" board, and many others.    It is used by Commissioners to control these boards, and hopefully heir to their throne when term limits catches up to them.    Many examples of this deceitful maneuver can be cited.

How about this scenario of what the City Manager is doing ?

                The City Manager comes to work on Friday morning -- would have to be morning -- and finds a dead body in his chair.    He immediately makes out his blank agenda for Monday nights meeting.   Now Monday night he revels what he wants to do.    He wants a to bury the body (at taxpayer expense) with a vote at this time.   Later on the citizens of Winter Springs, after paying for the burial, will be able to find out --- who, how, when, and why?
